First off I ordered two Black Angus sirloin steaks. The first was medium rare for myself and a second medium well for my girlfriend. My medium rare was medium well, and her medium well was well done. I could deal with these if I wasn’t chewing and chewing and chewing. I am a meat guy, mess up my steaks, I’ll never trust you. We ordered mixed vegetables with these and the green beans had that frozen Walmart vegetables taste. Yum.
My husband and I love the Phoenix!! Their new location is amazing - the atmosphere is top notch. We love coming here to eat, hang out, and socialize. This is not a fast food place, people who expect that are just ridiculous.... I'm not sure what happened to people going out and actually enjoying their dining EXPERIENCE but we now live in a society where everyone wants everything to be instant. Phoenix makes all food to order, from scratch. GOOD FOOD TAKES TIME!! I hope nothing changes here, we are never disappointed and especially love Q's weekend specials. The staff is always friendly and above the rest. Really just a gem and destination place in Baldwin. I would recommend this place over and over again. Food and people are just so quality - nothing bad to say!
Absolutely loved the Phoenix Bar and Grill! I had the house favorite walleye sandwich and it was amazing. We followed that up with a homemade cheesecake with real fresh strawberry toppings that was also amazing! Fast and friendly service with a minimal wait time. We waited fifteen minutes for our table on a friday night before Christmas. Considering how many people were there, our wait time and the quality of the food was impeccable. The only complaint I had was my drink which was mixed incorrectly. Overall though it was a wonderful experience.
Yes being within 1 minute from your establishment and arriving when we were told, was what caused overcooked steaks and bland food.
My wife and I were looking for a place to eat while in Baldwin, and Phoenix was an intriguing option, but, what sealed the deal for me was how the owner handles reviews on Google here. I knew that if they are willing to follow up on each poor review that the service must be excellent. Our experience was nothing short of that as we were greeted and seated immediately upon our arrival, and our server (I forgot her name, sorry!) Did a great job of checking on us and making sure our food was good and our drinks were full. My wife says this is now one of her new favorite places, even though it's a drive for us.
Will not go back again.
The rest of our group ordered burgers which had that preformed circular patty shape and taste. They were not impressed either.
The Phoenix has been a favorite if my family for a few years now and the new location is simply fantastic. Great food, excellent service and warm atmosphere make it THE #1 restaurant in Baldwin. J Lee 12/12/2017
I also got the Ahi bangers medium rare as I am a huge fan of sushi. They looked neat, presented well, but lacked any good flavor. Not my cup of tea, I think the cucumber slices dull the flavor. I also am not a sauce guy so I didn’t dip them in any of the sauces. I try to enjoy the flavor of my foods and not some processed sauces.
This place is by no means expensive. We ordered 2 steaks and veggies, 1 Ahi banger, 1 fire shrimp and 2 burger baskets for about 90 bucks. It’s just I’d rather spend my money elsewhere.
